The Honda Odyssey is one of the best-selling minivans on the road, and it’s clear that the model will keep that title, now that the 2018 Honda Odyssey debut has taken center stage at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
One of the greatest upgrades in the new Honda Odyssey is its new seating configuration, which includes a Magic Slide second row seat, allowing five seating positions and making it easy for passengers to access the third row.
Honda estimates that the 2018 Honda Odyssey will lead its class in fuel efficiency, though the official data hasn’t been released yet. The previous Odyssey bested its competition in fuel economy and the new Odyssey is nearly 100 pounds lighter this year.
Lastly, we learned at the auto show that the new Honda Odyssey will be powered by a 3.5-liter direct injection V6 engine, allowing the model to get up to 280 horsepower, compared to its predecessor’s 248 horsepower.
The new minivan should find itself in dealerships this spring. Want to learn more about the upcoming 2018 Honda Odyssey or take the current Honda Odyssey out on a test drive? Contact us or visit us any time, here at Hardin County Honda.
With Uber and similar ride-sharing services becoming more popular than ever – in which you can summon a driver with just the touch of a button – it’s no wonder that major automakers are taking notice and getting in on the game. The new Honda investment in Grab is proof of this trend.
Recently, Honda made a huge investment in Grab, an app similar to Uber and Lift, currently quite popular in Southeast Asia. Honda hasn’t shared their exact plans for Grab, but we think it’s safe to say that they will be offering Honda models for the system.
In fact, it’s incredibly likely that Honda will give some of their first self-driving cars to Grab, which should streamline the process for the app and provide excellent marketing and brand recognition opportunities for Honda.
Could Grab become as popular in the United States as Uber? With self-driving Honda models working as part of the service, Grab could become a household name. Only time will tell. Honda has been tight-lipped regarding their progress with self-driving cars, but the Honda investment in Grab indicates that they are getting closer and closer to the finish line.

Honda is joining forces with the NHL this year in Los Angeles. The Japanese carmaker was recently named the 2017 NHL All-Star Game title sponsor, which was revealed during the LA Auto Show earlier this month with a special appearance by NHL superstar Wayne Gretzky. The All-Star Game is set to occur on Sunday, January 29th at the Staples Center.
“Honda shares a love for the game of hockey with millions of fans around the world, and we are pleased to support the effort to host this ultimate showcase of the NHL and its incredibly talented players in our backyard,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda’s Senior Vice President and General Manager. “We look forward to working with the NHL to create some fun for fans throughout the 2017 All-Star Weekend including the intersection of Hockey and Hollywood that will be arriving at LA Life the last weekend of January.”
As the All-Star Game title sponsor, Honda will also present the game’s Most Valuable Player with an all-new 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck at the end of the game. In honor of this partnership between the Japanese carmaker and the NHL, Honda showed off a custom-wrapped 2017 Honda Ridgeline truck during the 2016 LA Auto Show, allowing hockey fans attending the automotive show to take pictures with the “MVP Ridgeline” at the Honda booth.

The 2017 Civic Hatchback design is making news around the globe. Thanks to some innovative style changes and upgraded aerodynamics, this model is faster, more efficient, and better looking than ever before. In fact, at first glance, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback.
According to Digital Trends, the hatch design is European-inspired. That means it comes with a sloping five-door design—which includes a liftgate instead of a standard trunk. The interior is actually roomier than a sedan, capable of seating five very comfortably. Best of all, the sloping contours and aggressive exterior make a bold statement.
“The Civic Hatch has been a staple for Honda in Europe, but has long been the forbidden fruit for Honda fans in the U.S.,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Now, we’re bringing this sporty, stylish and versatile Civic Hatchback to North America, as we amp up the performance of our incredible Civic lineup with each new Civic model.”
What’s so special about the new Civic exterior? This hatch model comes with an athletic stance and dark alloy wheels. An integrated spoiler and sweeping silhouette increase aerodynamics, while new air-intake vents add sporty appeal. The centered dual exhaust system also makes a statement, a feature that you rarely find on a hatchback. The Civic Hatchback will be released sometime soon, and its scheduled to hit the market before the much-anticipated Civic Type-R special performance model. We can’t wait to see both these Civics in action.
Hardin County Honda will have this new 2017 Civic Hatchback in stock soon! Keep an eye out!
