In an era in which is seems no one is willing to work together, Honda has no problem stepping across the aisle to get things done; Honda recently announced its partnership with competitor General Motors in the development of the new next-gen car batteries.
The batteries are being developed specifically for all-electric vehicles and are incredibly complex pieces of machinery. With thousands of components going into just one battery, including chemical, electrical, and physical parts, teamwork is key to creating the safest, strongest, and most efficient product for consumers.
The current partnership calls for Honda to collaborate with General Motors based on GM’s current modelling of next-generation battery systems. The batteries will be optimized for and fully compatible with both Honda and GM vehicles. Both auto giants recognize that the key to future success in the industry lies in great innovation within green, electric technologies today, and this partnership marks a huge leap in the right direction.
Now, what does this new collaboration on next-gen batteries mean for all you Honda loyalists? How about maximized value in future all-electric Honda products? That sounds pretty good to all of us here at Hardin County Honda; we can wait to start seeing these specialized technologies in our showroom!
