You may not think of The Bluegrass State as a hotspot for spring breakers, but sometimes you can’t — or don’t want to — leave the area to take a vacation in March or April. There are some memorable, enjoyable spring break destinations in Kentucky that you can still plan a getaway from your daily grind here in Elizabethtown. Here are our suggestions.
Daniel Boone National Forest
If you haven’t spent a weekend or a whole week in our state’s national forest, you absolutely should. Spanning over 700,000 acres of federally protected land, you’ll find 600 miles of trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest to keep you on your feet the entire time. With highlights like Cumberland Falls, Natural Bridge, and Sheltowee Trace, there are plenty of scenic places here to find. Red River Gorge is especially a great area to vacation at with its fun tourist activities. Pack up your Honda Pilot or CR-V and explore the park that stretches across half of our state.
If you prefer a spring break getaway in Kentucky that’s more urban than outdoorsy, spend some time relaxing in Bardstown. Known as one of the most charming small towns in the country, it’s a wonderful destination for Kentuckians who like history, old houses, and museums. If drinks are an essential part of your spring break tradition, Bardstown has some excellent bourbon distilleries. And, it’s only a half-hour drive from Elizabethtown in your Honda Civic.
Whether you choose to stay nearby for spring break this year or travel across the country, a Honda can take you there in style and comfort. Find one to drive here at Hardin County Honda.
